No one wants to hear what you think!
My last blog was pretty successful, for a personal blog that offered no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Was cited in a magazine as one of Denver’s ten best blogs, and at its heyday had 400-500 unique visitors a day.
But then things turned ugly. Stalker ugly. I was misquoted across the blogosphere. The smear campaign was so intense, you’d think I had been responsible for the Holocaust, when in fact all I had done was to stick up for gay people to some bigoted, but powerful bloggers.
I had my blog password-protected, but after such a horrible experience (which I took personally, because the attack was meant to be personal), my heart wasn’t in blogging any more. I’ve been away from blogging for over a year.
But here I am, new blog, new space, new name. I’m going to try this again. I had the scary stalker-thing happen to me, and I don’t want it to happen again. However, I love to write. I love to read what other people write.
I was once told by a boyfriend that I should shut up because “no one wants to hear what you think!” This from a man who thought people should worship his opinion like something from the Gospel.
I suppose I could continue to sit on my couch and keep my thoughts to myself.
This seems like more fun.
